John Burkhalter of The Practitioners of Musick served as a music consultant for the PBS Documentary “Road to Liberty Through Their Eyes”. Produced by Jill Hargraves and Janice Selinger of Eaglevision Productions Inc. “Road to Liberty” is a truly remarkable story of perseverance, survival , and triumph that needs to be retold for a 21st – century audience. This documentary captures the Patriots struggle for independence against the mightiest nation in the world during the formative years of the American Revolution from 1775 to 1777. Never again would the battle to defend this fledgling country and the colonists’ right to self -rule be so vulnerable and so close to defeat as it was in those months leading up to Christmas 1776 and the Battles of Trenton and Princeton.
